Now Winter has arrived, the evenings are noticeably shorter and the temperature has dropped, there are a few things changes that will need to be made.

  • Ideally you should have a coat for your dog to help keep them dry. This will stop their coat getting matted and dirty.

  • Keep your dog warm where you can. A coat can help with this too.

  • As the amount of daylight will greatly reduce now is a time to wear reflective clothing for both you and you dog when you go out walking.

  • After a walk outside check their paws and remove any snow or winter salt you may find in their paws.

  • Beware of any areas of frozen water such as lakes that may not take the weight of your dog or even you if you had to try assist your dog.
